But yea...when they have inclement weather it is the complete definition of that word. But if there's one thing I learned from NZ (case in point: zorbing) it's that there is no possible way to get to do all the cool stuff there in one trip. Definitely must go back!!! That was fine with me. I didn't really want to crash into the side of a mountain anyway. I wound up hiking around Lake Matheson and doing another one (can't remember its name off the top of my head) that offered an outstanding view of the glacier. I also drove to the glacier and walked to the base. Judging by your photos, it looks like I missed out on something great. Such is life...more reason to go back now. We wanted to do the flight but didn't have time. You can definitely hike the glacier in inclement weather (they are spectacularly prepared) but you would def. want a clear day for some amazing views from the air. Crossing my fingers for you!
